Unemployment hits Michigan in a big way

In the US state of Michigan, unemployment benefits are now running in the hundreds of thousands.

State employment officers say they are handling 10,000 calls a day from unemployed workers, causing the state to open seven new claims processing offices.

The state has also added a new computer server to deal with the multiple callers.

The state unemployment rate, which is the highest in the country, is at 9.6 percent.

4 years after, in the poolhall, those guys who believe 2009 change is on the way will still the same holding a brown bag with a bottle of Whisky in hand. Sad !
