Pornography kings cry poor to Congress

The CEO’s of pornography businesses, Hustler and Girls Gone Wild, have asked the US Congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of Americans by considering an industry bailout.

Hustler magazine founder Larry Flynt, and Joe Francis, creator of the “Girls Gone Wild” video series, are seeking a US$5 billion bailout from Washington.

The men have argued that the flagging US economy has also softened the adult entertainment industry.

Flynt and Francis have asked the newly convened 111th Congress to give their industry the same consideration that was given to car makers.

Mr Francis, in a statement, said: 'In difficult economic times, Americans turn to entertainment for relief. More and more, the kind of entertainment they turn to is adult entertainment.'

Mr Flynt said people were too depressed with the economy to be sexually active, creating an unhealthy nation.
