LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur, Nov. 6 (PIA) -- The 1st Field Artillery Battalion, Army Artillery Regiment, Philippine Army lauded the stakeholders' efforts for their significant contributions in the successful conduct of various civil-military operation (CMO) activities of the unit.

Brigadier General Adriane C. Adriatico, commander of the Army Artillery Regiment, thanked the stakeholders for their untiring support and concern to the cannoneers in his visit during the 32nd Founding Anniversary of the unit held at Kuta Major Cesar Sang-an, Pulacan, this municipality recently.

Adriatico personally handed the awards to the following stakeholders: Vice Mayor Marlon Valenzuela of Labangan, Mayor Michelle V. Rota of Tukuran, Melchor U. Coronel, station manager of RMN DXPR radio station, and Gideon Corgue, information officer of the Philippine Information Agency.

He underscored the vital role of stakeholders in the implementation of the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR), adding that stakeholders are the main actors of the program.

"I hope that you will never get tired of helping us so that we can sustain the stability of peace and order in our place," Adriatico said.

It was learned that the 1FAB conducted series of medical, dental and civic action program (MEDCAP) particularly in the unit's five adopted barangays namely San Isidro and Tawagan Norte of Labangan; Man-ilan and Tinutungan of Tukuran, and Kalasan of Pagadian City. The MEDCAP provided health care services to the poor families in the said barangays.

Meanwhile, the AAR commander commended the 1FAB personnel for their remarkable accomplishments particularly in the conduct of 15 successful fire missions in Zamboanga City, Marawi, and Sulu areas.

Adriatico said the unit boosted the morale of its troops by recommending various awards and commendations and recommended 49 personnel for promotion to the next higher rank.

"At least 13 personnel were meritoriously promoted because of their noteworthy accomplishments of liberating Marawi City from the Maute terror group last year," Adriatico proudly announced.

The pinning of ranks and signing of memorandum of agreement between the 1FAB represented by LtCol. Jose Noel Romero, commanding officer, and the local government units of Labangan, Tukuran and Pagadian City represented by their respective local chief executives highlighted the founding anniversary of the unit.
