ROXAS CITY, Capiz, Dec. 18 (PIA) -- Three government information officers in Capiz were conferred as this year's Best Performing Information Officers (IOs) in Western Visayas by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA)-6.
Information Officers Ayr Altavas of the Provincial Health Office, SPO3 Donna Asmod of the Capiz Police Provincial Office and Margie Gimeno of the Local Government Unit of Tapaz town are among this year's best in the region.
Altavas also received the Hall of Fame Award for Best Performing Information Officer after garnering the Best IO award from 2016 to 2018.
Information Officer Ayr Altavas of the Capiz Provincial Health Office thanks the Philippine Information Agency 6 for the recognition, citing that the award symbolizes hope and a challenge for every government information officer to continuously deliver excellent service to the public as agents of change.
The three Capiz awardees are among this year's eight best performing IOs in Western Visayas.
The Roxas City Fire Station's Public Information Office and its Semper Paratus publication were also recognized as Best Performing Information Office and Best News Magazine, respectively.
Altavas, in his response message during the Information Officers' Year-End Conference and Awards ceremony, December 12 in Iloilo City, thanked the recognition given by the PIA for the information officers.
He said the award symbolizes hope and a challenge as well for every government information officer to continuously deliver excellent service to the public as agents of change.
On the other hand, Roxas City Fire Station chief Stephen Jardeleza commends the PIA 6 for recognizing the information officers through this annual initiative.
Jardeleza, who was also among the Best IOs in the region years back, said the support of every head of office or agency to their IO is also very important for them to also work and deliver the best for the people.
PIA6 is holding the Information Officers' Year-End Conference and Awards yearly to promote fellowship and information-sharing opportunities for information networks as well as recognize Best Performing Information Officers, Offices and Agency/Office Publications in Western Visayas.
