Reports and observations from the police and military shows that since 2017, the movements of threat groups and lawless elements in the southern part of the country have been reduced and Martial Law in Mindanao resulted to the decrease of criminalities especially in Zamboanga Peninsula Region.
"The City Government of Zamboanga supports the extension of martial law to further address threats and concerns," Mayor Beng Climaco-Salazar said.
Last December 12, 2018, the 17th Congress approved the extension of Martial Law in Mindanao for another year or until the end of 2019.
