ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, June 14 (PIA)-- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) joined forces with SM City Masinag to highlight Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the "SM for SMEs" campaign roadshow.
The official launch took place at the SM City Masinag Mall Atrium at 2pm, June 7, 2019 with SM City Masinag Mall Manager Belinda Gonzales, DTI Rizal Provincial Director Mercedes Parreno, Antipolo City Councilor Enrico De Guzman, Antipolo City Economic Enterprise Office representative Amalia Engalla and resource speaker Dennis Orlina.
"SM has actually been nurturing MSMEs over the years. Some of them start in our malls and have now expanded each one. In Rizal, DTI urges encourages entrepreneurs to penetrate bigger markets. The MSME in the province in the country now thrives in the local and international platforms and through the MSMEs the public has more and more delightful products available in the market," said SM Masinag Mall Manager Belinda Gonzales.
Gonzales also expressed gratitude to DTI Rizal provincial Director Mercedes Parreno and TESDA Provincial Director Elpidio Mamaril for working with SM. Director Parreno further highlighted the government's efforts to empower MSMEs.
"This afternoon we are very fortunate to have one of the experts of the industry, Mr. Dennis Orlina, to discuss customer relations and visual merchandising. And these seminars will be attended by SM Management to help tenants to push their products," said Director Parreno.
Right after the official launch, Orlina conducted seminars on Quality Customer Service and Visual Merchandising to members of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Rizal Chapter, senior high school students and mall tenant personnel among others.
Rizaleno SME products and services were featured at the roadshow including, Pat & Josh Food Products, Cut N Shape Craft Manufacturing, ELMN Enterprises, Manganyaman Gourmet Place, Glofon Herbal Medicine, ARH Arts & Crafts, Crates Possibilities and Balaw-Balaw Food Inc. among others.
The roadshow which took place from June 7 to 10 at the SM City Masinag aims to inspire potential entrepreneurs to pursue business ventures and assist existing businesses by providing a mall platform for sales. TESDA-Rizal also conducted various learning sessions during the campaign proper.
Products of Rizal Kapatid Mentor ME mentees were also displayed during the campaign roadshow while DTI also announced the launch of designs made by students from the University of the Philippines - Diliman College of Fine Arts for local SMEs such as Cut N Shape Manufacturing and other MSMEs.
