LEGAZPI CITY, July 15 (PIA) - The Albay Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) called on local government units and drug-related agencies and departments in the province to carry on their mandate to lessen drug-related cases in Albay.
PADAC is chaired by Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara.
During the recently conducted monthly meeting at the Albay Capitol building, chiefs and representatives of different cities, municipalities and agencies in the province agreed to realign its work and financial plans for year 2020-2022 for a drug-free Albay.
In a report presented by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) - Region V, around 14, 803 individuals in Albay are reportedly engaged in drug and currently under the drug clearing and process program.
"We aim to clear at least 100 barangays per cities and municipalities," Albay Police Provincial Office Chief PSSUPT. Wilson Asueta said.
Asueta cited that 49 out of 70 barangays in Legazpi City were already cleared by the PDEA in Legazpi City, making it the highest number of cleared barangays in the province. (SAA/PGA-PIA5/Albay)
