TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, August 19 (PIA) - - Heads of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Agriculture in the Cagayan Valley Region agreed to collaborate in pushing the region as an agribusiness sourcing and investment destination.
DA regional executive director Narciso A. Edillo agreed to support the upcoming PADDAY NA LIMA on September 24-30, 2019 at the Festival Mall, Alabang, Muntinlupa to showcase the region's bountiful agro-products such as corn, rice, citrus, coconut, banana, pineapple, ginger, peanuts and mongo, in both fresh and processed form.
The region is acknowledged as the leading producer of these commodities.
PADDAY NA LIMA has been the DTI-2's banner for marketing and promotion of exquisite Region 02 products in the furniture and furnishing, lifestyle, gifts and holiday decor, health and wellness, and fresh and processed food sector.
Edillo and DTI regional director Romleah Pulido-Ocampo agreed to make PADDAY NA LIMA a grand showcase of what the region has to offer to the local and global markets.
Ocampo also discussed other areas where DTI and DA could collaborate not only in product and industry development but also in investment promotionsuch as the annual Regional Congress for Mango and Pineapple to encourage the growth of these industries in Region 02, and the Agrobusiness investment packages to be pushed in future promotion efforts both here and in East Asia.
