LAGAWE, Ifugao, Sept. 23 (PIA) - - The dream of the Ifugao Police Provincial Office (IPPO) of having a modern facility has come true.
The three-storey Philippine National Police(PNP) building worth more than P10 million at Camp Col. Joaquin Dunuan was recently inaugurated by police and local officials.
"For decades, we have been wanting this occasion to come into reality and now, we are gathered in this place to be part of the history of this province," said Police Regional Office-Cordillera(PRO-COR) Director Brig. General Israel Ephraim Dickson.
Dickson said that the PNP-building will be a home not only for police officers but also for the community and this is a symbol of governance and what the community and the police can achieve together.
The construction of the building was started in July last year and completed same month of this year. This is in line with PNP's PATROL PLAN 2030 to provide the communities with adequate, safe, and community-friendly building and facilities.
Dickson commended former PNP Deputy Director General Francisco Uyami, Jr. who is one of the driving forces why the structure was built. "If not your persistence, it would have taken us a longer time to enjoy what a new building can offer us," he said.
Saying that the facility is the realization of the collective dreams and a masterpiece of the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders, Uyami stated , "I hope that this building will be a center of productive work for our police provincial office to promote peace and order in the province, and I hope also that other buildings like a hospital will also be constructed here."
Dickson appealed to all stakeholders to support the police. "It is only through our collaborative efforts that we can attain a safer place to live, work and do business," he said.
Governor Jerry Dalipog enjoined the end users to use the facility in accordance to its purpose to help in achieving a peaceful community and province as a whole. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
