ILOILO CITY, Oct. 22 (PIA-6) - The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) in Western Visayas launched the "Whole-of-Nation Approach" essay writing contest during the conduct of the agency's campus journalism seminar workshop recently.
PIA-6 OIC Regional Head Jaime Cabag, Jr. said that the writing competition is part of the information drive on the whole-of-nation approach in ending local communist armed conflict which was established by Executive Order No. 70, issued by President Rodrigo Duterte.
"One of the special topics integrated in this year's campus journalism seminar-workshop is the 'Whole-of-Nation Approach,' with resource speakers from the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency," he said.
He said the contest is open to all tertiary level student editors and writers who have participated in any of the batches of the 2019 PIA-6 Campus Journalism Seminar-Workshops.
The theme for the writing competition is "Attaining Inclusive Peace and Sustainable Development Through the Whole-of-Nation Approach."
Participants may use as basis for their essay the Executive Order 70 which institutionalized the "Whole of Nation Approach," or information they have derived from the lecture on the said topic during the seminar-workshop.
The winners of the contest shall be announced during the 2019 College Press Conference and Awards which will be held on the last week of November.
