DAGUPAN CITY, Nov. 17 (PIA) - The Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP)-Pangasinan Chapter held on Friday the election of its new set of officers for calendar year 2020.

Station managers from KBP-member stations elected Jay Mendoza of DZRD Sonshine Radio as chairman while Noel Sibayan of Love Radio was elected vice-chair.

Completing the new set of officers are: Secretary-Josie Sarmiento of Bombo Radyo-Dagupan; Treasurer-Mark Espinosa of RMN-iFM; Auditor- Gina Almazan of ABS-CBN-MOR and; Standards Performance Officer-Bernie Errasquin of DZMQ-Radyo Pilipinas.

Mendoza succeeded Almazan who was chairman for 2019.

Outgoing Chair Almazan said it was an honor to have represented the KBP-Pangasinan Chapter 2019, considering that she manages the media outlet's television and radio stations in north and central Luzon.

"This was the very first of ABS-CBN Dagupan to be the chairman of KBP for both radio and TV. As the new set of officers for year 2020 steps in, I would like to say I am honored to have been given the chance to lead the prestigious media organization for this year," Almazan said.

Mendoza, for his part, said he is humbled and grateful to all KBP-Pangasinan Chapter members for the opportunity to serve again.

"We will continue to work in harmony. We pray that the Almighty Father will bless and guide the chapter in all its endeavors," Mendoza said.

In November 2017, KBP-Pangasinan was adjudged as the best chapter in the country.

Among the initiatives of the organization include a weekly forum held every Thursday in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency and Pangasinan media.

Environmental awareness is also being implemented with the project dubbed "Oplan BroadcasTreeing."

It has also initiated projects such as 'Ballet and Ballads' and media tours in partnership with other civic organizations. (AMB/VHS/PIA Pangasinan)
