TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Nov. 18 (PIA)-The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) recently warned the public against social media posts indicating that typhoon Ramon (international name: Kalmaegi) is expected to develop into a super typhoon.

According to PAGASA officials, there is no truth to this and such is considered fake news.

PAGASA is the only legitimate agency to provide the public with reliable and accurate weather updates especially during calamities.

Local officials in the Cagayan Valley region now appealed to netizens not to share or like such posts to prevent its further proliferation.

Meanwhile, PAGASA raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 over Cagayan and parts of Isabela as 'Ramon' intensifies and moves toward northern Cagayan.

'Ramon' is expected to make landfall over Northern Cagayan between Monday night and Tuesday morning. (ALM/PIA-2)
