NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, Dec. 11 (PIA6) -- The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) scaled up its information dissemination drive with the unveiling of its official quarterly newsletter dubbed as 'Ang Pahayag'.
Launched during NOCPPO's traditional flag raising, the maiden issue is an initiative of Police Provincial Director Police Col. Romeo Baleros and is meant to utilize the full potential of print media in conveying public safety announcements and newsworthy accomplishments.
"The provincial director has given importance to good media relations, active police-community partnership, and effective public information," according to the NOCPPO press statement.
Meanwhile, Easter Anne Doza, Information Officer of Philippine Information Agency (PIA)-Negros Occidental, who served as the guest of honor reminded the cops to be wary of the proliferation of fake news.
"We at PIA are more than glad with the launching of your NOCPPO magazine and since it is produced by NOCPPO, it sure is free from unverified information and let's make sure we maintain its credibility in the succeeding issues," Doza said.
She likewise lauded the team work of NOCPPO Information Office for fulfilling the task which is going an extra mile in the service to the Negrenses.
Further, this endeavor was completed through the efforts of then Chief of Police Community Affairs Development Section, Police Lieutenant Colonel Lea Rose Pena and Police Major Edison Garcia, Chief of Public Information Office with Philippine News Agency (PNA) Negros Occidental Bureau Chief Nanette Guadalquiver as consultant.
Apart from the initiation of 'Ang Pahayag', NOCPPO has also organized its press corps in July this year. (LTP/LML-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
