CEBU CITY, Jan. 17 (PIA) -- Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is expected to join the Cebuanos in celebrating this year's Sinulog Festival on Jan. 19, 2020, his first since assuming office.
This would also be the President's first visit in Cebu for 2020.
Pres. Duterte has accepted the invitation of Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella to join this year's Sinulog Festival.
The President is expected to deliver a speech during the Sinulog Ritual Showdown at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).
Along with other officials and 15,000 spectators at the CCSC, the President will also witness the performances of the Sinulog dancing contingents.
Sinulog Festival is one of the grandest and highly anticipated festivals in the country that celebrates faith, culture, and tourism.
The President's visit in Cebu will also be highlighted by the unveiling of a marker at the Terminal 1 of the Mactan Cebu International Airport in Lapu-Lapu City.
Expected to join the President are Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, Sen. Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go, and Presidential Communications Operations Office Sec. Martin Andanar. (fan/PIA7)
