COTABATO CITY, Jan. 21(PIA) - The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) government's recently-launched job portal has hitched 160,000 applicants for more than a thousand regional positions being processed by different ministries of the BARMM to date.

This was revealed by BARMM spokesperson and minister of local government Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo during the recent conduct of weekly Kapihan sa Bangsamoro.

"We already have around 160,000 applications over a thousand positions published in the job portal," he said.

According to Sinarimbo, applicants who are qualified for the positions they applied for will be required to pass an examination to be conducted by the respective ministries. After this, the ministries will set a schedule for an interview for those who passed the examination.

"There are also schedules for holding the examination which is a requirement in the appointment process before one goes into the next process which is the interview, and then after subsequently passing the stages, an appointment will be issued by the appointing authority," Sinarimbo noted.

He said every ministry and office have also set their respective timelines regarding the period of application.

"For instance, last weekend the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) conducted the examination for positions published by their ministry in three places, one in Cotabato another one in Iligan, and another one in Zamboanga City. This is for the 63 positions published by the MSSD," he added.

Sinarimbo also reminded job seekers in the Bangsamoro government to apply for positions that best fit their qualifications. He said, for those who cannot meet the qualification standards of appointment, they could avail the incoming programs of the Bangsamoro government.

The Bangsamoro job portal was created as part of the government's policy to strictly implement the merit-based hiring process, guided by the principles of moral governance set by the Bangsamoro government. (PIA-Cotabato City)
