BAGUIO CITY, Feb. 14 (PIA) -- On Valentines Day, officials and members of the Cordillera Association of Regional Executives (CARE) brought joy and smiles to the clients of the Regional Haven for Women and Girls of the Department of Social Welfare and Development with a gift giving activity.
The CARE SHARES (Serving Hearts Attracts Radiant & Everlasting Smile) is a regular outreach program of the association where the executives distribute goods and basic needs/essentials to their chosen beneficiaries.
This time, beneficiaries are the current clients of the Haven that include 13 children and three women.
Cordillera singer Ingrid Payaket also joined CARE to serenade the clients.
The Haven provides temporarily shelter and protective custody of victims of difficult circumstances and those facing traumatic effects of different kinds of abuse and exploitation. The center's services include social, home life, recreational, psychological, health, economic, recreational and dietary services.
"We are thankful that despite of our responsibilities from our respective offices, we continue to spend time, money, and efforts to share our blessings for those who are in need. I pray that this good deed of CARE will flourish." said CARE President, DILG Regional Director Marlo Iringan.
In the general assembly that followed the gift giving, Iringan presented the accomplishments and activities of the association in the past two years.
DOH - CAR OIC Regional Director Dr. Amelita Pangilinan also gave a briefing on the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)
The CARE also elected their new set of officials for calendar year 2020-2022. Elected as president is Office of Civil Defense Regional Director Albert Mogol with DPWH Regional Director Tiburcio Canlas as Vice President.
DILG Asst. Regional Director Araceli San Jose - Secretary; DTI Abra Provincial Director Samuel Gallardo - Treasurer; DOH Regional Director Pangilinan - Asst. Treasurer; DSWD Regional Director Leo Quintilla - Auditor, and PIA Regional Director Helen Tibaldo - Public Relation Officer.
Elected as Business Managers are DOT Regional Director Jovita Ganongan and DOST Regional Director Nancy Bantog. Marshalls are CSC Asst. Regional Director Cornelia Rillera and DENR Regional Director Ralph Pablo. (JDP/CCD-PIA CAR)
