CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Feb. 25 (PIA) -- Indonesian Consul General in Davao City Dicky Fabrian paid a courtesy visit to Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Northern Mindanao Regional Director Linda Boniao on February 21, 2020, in the DTI Regional Office in Cagayan de Oro City.
Consul General Fabrian expressed the consulate's intent of fostering the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and the Philippines through various aspects of collaborations such as events and activities lined up by the Indonesian Consulate General in Davao City for 2020.
These include Wonderful Indonesia: Food, Tourism, and Trade Expo 2020 & Cooking Lesson on July 3-5, 2020; Trade Expo Indonesia 2020 on September 30-October 4, 2020 in Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD, Tagnerang, Indonesia; and Made in Indonesia: Beauty and Fashion Festival 2020 on November 13-15, 2020.
Consul General Fabrian also extended an invitation to DTI to join in the investment and trade mission to introduce investment opportunities of Northern Mindanao in Makassar, Indonesia in April of this year. Other Philippine delegates would include representatives from the private sector, business organizations, and academe.
On the other hand, the Indonesian consulate has been invited by the city government of Cagayan de Oro to participate in the Kumbira this coming August to exhibit their food and cultural presentation. The consulate will be bringing over a renowned chef of their country to demonstrate how to prepare and cook Indonesian cuisine.
Additionally, an Indonesian expo is set to be organized next year in Cagayan de Oro. The expo will feature trade opportunities, food, investments, and bilateral agreements for the possible establishment of sister cities and universities.
The courtesy meeting was also attended by Madame Fera Andriani Fabrian; Consul Henny Mulyani, Head of Information and Socio-Cultural Affairs; Vice-Consul Ely Syafitri Handayani, Head of Economic Affairs; Noni Trihardini, Staff for Economic Affairs; Chandra Cipta Nuresa, Staff for Information and Socio-Cultural Affairs; and DTI team composed of DTI-10 Assistant Regional Director Ermedio Abang; DTI Lanao del Norte Provincial Director Ruel Paclipan; DTI Misamis Oriental Officer-in-Charge Provincial Director Almer Masillones; DTI10 Business Development Division Chief Maricris Gabia; and Planning Officer Jayquel Penaloga.
