SAN JOSE, Antique, March 25 (PIA) - - The Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19 commended the frontline service providers for their services rendered in the implementation of Community Quarantine to prevent the spread of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Deputy Speaker and Antique Representative Loren Legarda commended the frontliners in the health sector, security groups, local government units and other government agencies and private organizations for their self-sacrificing effort in the implementation of quarantine measures to beat COVID 19.

To help these frontline workers, she urged Antiquenos to follow the directives especially on staying at home, practicing social distancing, and other preventive and control measures.

Likewise, Antique Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ric Noel Naciongayo has cited the untiring support of the composite teams from the barangay health response teams (BHERTs), those assigned in quarantine checkpoints, and in the hospitals and other health facilities.

In the implementation of Enhanced Community Quarantine, Antique Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao issued Executive Order No. 36 putting Antique under Code Red Sublevel 2 and EO 37 for the interim guidelines for the "Work-from- Home" arrangement and support mechanism for the duration of the State of Public Health Emergency pursuant to Proclamation No. 922.

Earlier, Cadiao has issued EO No. 35 and EO 35-A for the strengthening of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

With the declaration of Code Red Sublevel 2, the provincial borders in Hamtic, Anini-y and Pandan including, Antique Airport and all seaports are temporarily closed.

To further strengthen the implementation of the above directives, a Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on COVID 19 was organized led by PCol Roy B. Parena as Chairperson with membership of various government agencies and private organizations including Dr. Naciongayo.

On the other hand, the local media practitioners have also done their share in helping disseminate the information to the Antiquenos to prevent the spread of COVID 19.

A regular press conference every Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon is being held for wider dissemination on the updates and announcements particularly on the interventions being undertaken by Task Force and other agencies relative to the fight against the pandemic disease.

The regular press conference, which is covered live in local stations and various media entities, is being organized by the Provincial Information Office, Philippine News Agency and Philippine Information Agency in partnership with the Antique Capitol Press Corps, PNP Press Corps and other media practitioners.
