NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, May 23 (PIA6) - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) here has started accepting clients but in small numbers amid the threat from coronavirus disease 2019 (CODID-19).
Provincial Statistics Officer Luis Gonzales said they have started to issue PSA documents, Monday to Friday, under a new normal environment, wherein clients are required to observe health standard protocols.
To ensure that physical distancing is observed, only the requester is allowed inside the building and he or she is not allowed to stand up but must occupy one of the chairs arranged a meter apart, he said.
To get into the office, one should wear a mask, Gonzales said, adding that a security guard checks on the temperature and provides alcohol disinfectant to the client before entering the Civil Registry System area.
"I am urging the public to abide by the health rules the government has set up,' he appealed.
Meanwhile, Gonzales said they are anticipating the Census of Population by September this year without Department of Education (DepEd) personnel getting involved, instead, the PSA will hire private enumerators.
Hiring of about 3,000 enumerators is ongoing in all Local Government Units of the province, he revealed.
He said they are looking at DepEd buildings or LGU-owned facilities as venues for conducting training for the enumerators as space is a consideration, as a bigger area is needed for the participants. (JSC/Lljr/Negros Occidental Infocen)
