CALOOCAN CITY, May 31 (PIA) --More than 400 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) were safely transported by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Arts of Manila (DTCAM) through its free shuttle service.
According to DTCAM, of the 400 OFWs, 205 were Manila City residents while the rest were from other places.
DTCAM operations officer Angel Carlo Salonga said that the department's free shuttle service will continue to assist OFWs and stranded local tourists at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange.
"Tuloy-tuloy ang serbisyong binibigay ang ating pamahalaan sa mga OFW na bumabalik dito sa ating bansa," Salonga said.
"Hindi po tayo titigil sa pag-assist sa ating mga OFW para po makauwi sa kanya-kanyang mga barangay mapa-dito man sa ating lungsod o hindi," he added.
Aside from this, DTCAM also provided support to locally stranded individuals.
Salonga said that a total of 605 individuals who have requested for travel pass have already been assisted by the city government agency.
