COVID-19 cases in CagVal now at 115

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, July 5 (PIA) - - Department of Health (DOH) region 2 has confirmed three new Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) positive cases today, bringing the total cases in Cagayan Valley region to 115.

In the press statement of DOH, Patients 113 and 114, a 23 year-old male and a50 year-old female, respectively, were both came from Sampaloc, Manila and arrived in City of Ilagan on June 23. Patient 113 is asymptomatic while Patient 114 experienced fever and sore throat.

Meanwhile, Patient 115 is a 47 year-old male from Enrile, Cagayan who arrived from Quezon City last July 3. He is asymptomatic.

The three Locally Stranded Individuals are now at the quarantine facilities of their respective Local Government Units.

Dr. Leticia Cabrera, chief Local Health Support Division of DOH, said contact tracing is now being undertaken by local health officials together with DILG, PNP and the LGUs concerned.

Cabrera also reminded the public to cooperate with the government officials and help contain the spread of the virus. (ALM/OTB/PIA-2)
