CALOOCAN CITY, Aug. 9 (PIA) --Pasay City officials met with representatives from the National Task Force against COVID-19 (NTF COVID-19) who paid the city a visit last August 6 to check on its efforts on the fight against COVID-19.
Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Chief Martin Andanar, World Health Organization (WHO) Country Representative Dr. Rabindra Abeyasinghe, DILG Assistant Secretary Manuel Felix, Baguio City Mayor and Contact Tracing Czar Benjamin Magalong, DOH Director Dr. Gloria Balboa, and Dr. Corazon Flores of DOH-Metro Manila Center for Health Development (MMCHD) joined the visit.
During the visit, Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano reported the city government's initiatives for management of COVID-19 including its policies, response mechanism, information dissemination, and the use of the city's contact tracing application, the One Country 100.
The One Country 100 features geotagging, and allows data migration from the COVID KAYA app of the DOH for easy tracking of cases.
Magalong, the tracing czar, shared the contact tracing strategies which Baguio City has adopted, and gave a demonstration on how it is implemented. Baguio has been commended by the WHO for its COVID-19 response and contact tracing strategy and management.
For his part, Duque reminded the local officials of the strict implementation of health standards to control the spread of the virus.
IEC materials and PPEs were also turned over to the Pasay City Government during the visit. (PIA-NCR)
