CALOOCAN CITY, Sept. 18 (PIA) --The Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) launched Friday (Sept. 18) the "Bayaning Pulis Foundation, Inc.' to help and provide educational assistance to children and dependents' of modern-day police heroes who died in duty while fulfilling their mission as public servants.
During the, PNP and PCCI also signed the Foundation's Articles and Incorporation and By-Laws that sets another milestone for the PNP Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and Upholding of the Rule of Law or PNP P.A.T.R.O.L Plan 2030.
Present at the ceremony are DILG Assistant Secretary Manuel Felix, PGen Cascolan, PMGen Joselito Vera Cruz, and other stakeholders from NAGPTD and Advisory Councils.
"This is a high impact project as part of the realization of PNP P.A.T.R.O.L Plan 2030, and this time, it aims to secure the welfare and benefit of dependents of PNP personnel who died or permanently incapacitated in line of duty," PGen Camilo Pancratius Cascolan said.
Expressing his gratitude and support to the PCCI led by Chair/Amb. Benedicto Yujuico and its Board of Trustees, he said "This noble program will benefit the children and dependents of our police officers who did the ultimate sacrifice for the country and Filipino people."
Aside from Yujuico, chair of the Bayaning Pulis Foundation as well as the Regional Advisory Council of National Capital Region Police Office, the project was also made possible thru the collaboration with National Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (NAGPTD) chaired by Mr. Prudencio J Gesta and PNP Center for Police Strategy Management.
Center for Police Strategy Management (CPSM) Director, PBGen Rhoderick Armamento said the foundation is a "proof of the high trust, confidence and strong commitment of the NAGPTD and Advisory Councils (ACs), not only to the organization but to every individual police officer."
"By providing educational support from elementary until they get college degree, the Foundation aims to provide the beneficiaries a better future and become more responsible and productive citizens," Armamento added.
Meawhile, Yujuico thanked the PNP for cooperation and collaboration.
"Thank you for your service that you have been doing for our nation. We, at PCCI are committed to be a part of the Bayaning Pulis Foundation," Yujuico said.
Through virtual conference, family members and children of three slain hero PNP personnel also joined in the event as first batch of beneficiaries of the Foundation.
Bayaning Pulis Foundation's Board of Trustees has tapped former PNP official, PBGen Noel Barreceros as the first Foundation's President, Atty. Benedicta Du-Baladad as the Secretary, PGen Camilo Pancratius Cascolan, Mr. Sergio Ortiz-Luiz, Mr. Prudencio Gesta And Dr. Francis Chua as Members. (PNP PIO/PIA-NCR)
