BANGUED, Abra, Oct. 29 (PIA) - The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) - Abra continues to release family food packs (FFPs) to the municipal local government units in the province to augment responses to the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

In an interview with DSWD Abra Project Development Officer Garri Brillantes, he said that this is an initiative of the agency under the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.

The FFPs that contain canned goods, rice, sachets of coffee and cereal energy drink, will augment the needs of families and the locally stranded individuals (LSIs) who are undergoing mandatory quarantine at the municipal isolation units

Brillantes said the LGUs may request to the DSWD additional FFPs in times they will be accommodating more LSIs.

He assured that releasing of FFPs is done in a proper manner through the Requisition and Issue Slip. Moreover, the LGUs are following our guide and inventory in the appropriate distribution of these supplies, Brillantes said.

The FFPs for the whole province are currently stored at Calaba Elementary School, the main hauling point for requesting LGUs.

He reported that the DSWD Regional Office and Central Office are ready to re-stock FFPs immediately once the supplies are close to depletion.

LGUs at the moment are hauling FFPs for their municipalities every week. (JDP/CAGT - PIA CAR, Abra)
