BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Oct. 30 (PIA) - The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) is set to provide Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) to former rebels in the province.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer Gerald 'Dindi' Tan said coordinations are now being made with concerned agencies for the upcoming distribution of CLOAs to at least 40 former rebels.
"We have been coordinating with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) for this major activity and we hope it to be done by next month," she said.
Tan made the announcement during the virtual 'Tungtungan ti Tribe Biskayano' of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) here.
She said the CLOAs will serve as an evidence for the former rebels' rightful ownership of their land to start their progressive future.
"We have already shortlisted the proposed Rebel Returnees (RRs) who will be validated if they are really qualified for the CLOA awarding," Tan added.
The PARO also said the former rebels are now excited and optimistic with the upcoming CLOA distribution since it will give them hope for a better future.# (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
