QUEZON CITY, Oct. 31 (PIA) -- Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar on Friday enjoined the public and government stakeholders to proactively participate in the crafting and monitoring implementations of programs and projects.

Andanar was one of the guests of the third episode of the regional dialogue for Dagyaw 2020 Virtual Town Hall Meetings, this time tackling policy concerns and recommendations with the business sector.

In his message, the Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security for Region 10 (CORDS X) remarked that the unity of Filipinos was the primary basis which created Dagyaw as a feedback mechanism for open government partnership.

"The essence of Dagyaw 2020's Virtual Town Hall Meetings is to ensure that we are all engaged with the government. It allows Filipinos to be well aware and informed of the government's actions on pressing issues, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and our economy, he said.

Andanar said that annual open government dialogue assures that everyone participates for the collective development and progress of the country.

"This is how the participatory government under the President works. Your grievances, your insights, your concerns, and your suggestions are heard and will serve as guide for the government as it plans, provides allocation, implements the programs and projects, and eventually monitors these, with you involved every step of the way," he said.

While the country battles to strengthen all its resources against COVID-19, the PCOO chief assured that the Duterte administration is ceaselessly working to safely revive the economy.

"The Duterte administration has been tirelessly ensuring our economic recovery from this health crisis that have truly affected and led not only our national economy, but also the global economy to a technical recession," he said.

He also encouraged participants to support and engage with the government as an expression of the spirit of bayanihan impressed in the term Dagyaw.

"With these, we are encouraging everyone to engage and work with the government by having the initiative and the drive to address these social ills," he said.

"We expect that through this Virtual Town Hall Meeting, we all exude the spirit of Dagyaw as we continue to remain on track in our development, progress, and recovery as one country," he added. (PIA NCR)
