CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Nov.24 (PIA) -- Police Regional Director PBGen. Valeriano De Leon reiterated his warning to erring and rogue cops as the internal cleansing campaign among its personnel continues.
This is in line with the directives of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief PGen. Debold Sinas to regain the public's trust and confidence.
"From 2016 to date, a total of 3,356 administrative cases have been filed against 5,118 erring Police Regional Office 3 (PRO 3) personnel. 677 of whom are Police Commissioned Officers and the remaining 4,441 are Police Non-Commissioned Officers," Valeriano disclosed.
Records from PRO3's Discipline Law and Order Section show that 410 personnel were dismissed from the police service while 411 were suspended, 42 were meted with demotion to the next lower rank and 5 separated from the service.
Moreover, 3,978 were exonerated from their administrative cases.
De Leon furthered that those meted with disciplinary action were all given due process during the conduct of summary hearing.
"We will continue to weed out hoodlums and punish the undisciplined among our ranks through the strict application of the punitive sanctions for violations of PNP rules and regulations, and intensified counter-intelligence effort against illegal activities of our personnel," he stressed.
