ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao, Nov. 30 (PIA) - - National and local government officials enjoined the recovering drug personalities (RDPs) here who braved the 18-months after care program and other drug surrenders to continue aiming for a peaceful and progressive life.
A total of 84 RDPs successfully finished the different required community-based activities under the 18-months after care program with the supervision of local anti-drug abuse councils while three are candidates for the aftercare program.
Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Miriam Baguidudol explained that the three candidates for moving-up have complied with all the requirements prescribed by a community-based rehabilitation program.
In his video message, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Undersecretary Jose Antonio Hernandez congratulated the RDPS for successfully completing their after care program.
"Nais kong ipaabot ang aking taos-pusong pagbati sa inyo mga nagsipagtapos ngayong araw. Ang inyong pamilya, ang gobyerno at ang bansa ay proud na proud sa inyo, niyayakap namin kayo pabalik," said Hernandez, who is an adopted son of Ifugao with the name "Aliguyon" (brave warrior).
The DSWD Usec also lauded the former drug personalities in heeding the call of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to stop using illegal drugs and work for peaceful and progressive community and nation as whole.
Mayor Edralin Alipio and Vice Mayor Agapito Dominguez urged the RDPs to continue the straight path they have started for the benefit of their respective families.
