Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo M. Ano will also give a message during this town hall meeting.
"Dagyaw" is a Hiligaynon word that directly translates to mean "togetherness." The word exemplifies the Filipino spirit of "bayanihan." The activity is an inter-agency collaboration among DILG, Department of Budget and a-Management (DBM), Presidential Communications Operations Office-Philippine Information Agency (PCOO-PIA) and non-government partner organizations.
Since 2018, the Participatory Governance Cluster of the Cabinet (PGC) has been spearheading annual regional town hall meetings attended by groups and individuals from government and non-government sectors.
In 2019, by virtue of PGC Resolution No. 02-S2019, these town hall meetings were re-launched as Dagyaw: Open Government and Participatory Governance Regional Town Hall Meetings.
The Dagyaw Town Hall Meetings are being held at the national level which started to run this October 2020 until December 2020, simultaneous with the conduct of regional town hall meetings. (MBR/PIAR4B)
