DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Jan. 18 (PIA) -- The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) led by Sec. Martin Andanar will spearhead a conference between national government agencies (NGAs) and local government units (LGUs) here to discuss updates on the government's response efforts amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dubbed "Pagdu-aw sa sa Negros Oriental: Explain, Explain, Explain," the dialogue is set on Jan. 21, at the Provincial Convention Center.
The activity aims to tackle the local governments' key initiatives as well as their best practices during the pandemic while providing a platform for national and local government agencies to discuss their policies in helping the communities in mitigating the impact of the pandemic.
This is also the opportunity to provide updates on the vaccines, minimum health protocols, and the safety nets implemented to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the communities.
Andanar noted in his earlier visits in other provinces that more than anything "it is really to send the symbol of hope, symbol of a united front and also to show that there are good examples that can be emulated by other provinces all over the Philippines."
Key officials present during the conference include the Department of Health Director Beverly Ho, Department of Social Welfare and Development Director Irene Dumlao, Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Sarah Arriola, Department of Agriculture Undersecretary Roldan Gorgonio, Department of Trade and Industry Undersecretary Ruth Castelo, Philippine Information Agency Director-General Ramon Cualoping, and the Regional Task Force Against COVID-19.
The event is expected to gather 50 participants from LGUs in Negros Oriental. (jct/PIA7 Negros Oriental)
