CALOOCAN CITY, April 18 (PIA) -- Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano has clarified some issues faced by the local government in distributing "ayuda" or cash assistance given to deserving residents affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
Mayor Emi admitted that local government had a hard time beating the deadline in the distribution of cash aid of P1,000 up to P4,000 to residents due to some technicalities.
"Iyong listahan ay hindi galing sa amin kundi sa DSWD-NCR at natatagalan po ang pamamahagi ng ayuda sapagkat kailangan ipaskil ang mga pangalan na tatanggap sa barangay at sa official website po ng mga barangayat maging sa city hall," she said, clarifying that the list did not come from them but from the Department of Social Welfare and Development- National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR).
She noted that the distribution of financial assistance had become slow because the list of names still needs to be posted on the barangay official website and at the city hall, and they can only prepare the payroll when no complaints were filed within 24 hours.
"Mapapagawan lang po namin ng payroll kung walang reklamo sa loob ng 24 oras," she added.
Rubiano said they only wanted to be sure that the ayuda provided by the National Government will go only to the legitimate beneficiaries.
She explained that all beneficiaries are supposed to receive P1,000 each regardless of their age.
However, she mentioned that in case there is more than four beneficiaries in one family, they will only receive a maximum P4,000.
"Kung sakali po na mahigit sa apat ang benepisaryo sa isang pamilya ay hangang P4,000 lang pa rin po talaga ang pinakamalaki na kanilang matatanggap," she said. (PIA NCR)
