NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, May 12 (PIA) -- The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental received the Vaccination Operations Center Manual, a comprehensive guide in establishing a systematic, orderly and standardized method in the roll out of the vaccines.
The team from the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV) led by Undersecretary Anthony Gerard "Jonji" Gonzales and the Inter-Agency Task Force Chief Implementer for Visayas Ret. Gen Mel Feliciano, turned-over the manual to Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson at the Negros Residences in Bacolod City, May 10.
"Lacson said that while waiting for the massive roll out, there is a need to enhance capacities so that when the vaccines arrive, we are prepared and ready for an efficient and effective mass inoculation."
"Given the transcendental importance of vaccination, we have to make sure that its implementation must be structured and organized to be able to achieve our desired end, that is to put an end to the COVID crisis in the country," he said.
The governor also thanked President Rodrigo Duterte and Sen. Bong Go for asserting the whole of nation approach for the equitable roll out of vaccines.
He also acknowledged the effort of Gen. Feliciano, Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Secretary Michael Lloyd Dino, Usec. Gonzales, the Department of Health, and Project Balik Buhay.
According to the him, the handbook cascading is an indication that we are hopefully are in the last stretch of this pandemic.
Lacson pointed out to the local chief executives of the province that the Vaccination Operations Center Manual will give a systematic, orderly and standardized method in the roll out of the vaccines, as already proven in the City of Mandaue in Cebu. *(LTP/EAD-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
