CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga - The Bureau of Customs (BOC) - Port of Clark hit its revenue collection goal for the fifth straight month in May.
A report from the Collection Division showed that BOC-Port of Clark surpassed its target for the month with an actual collection of PHP221.53 million as of May 24, compared to its target of PHP218.82 million for the month.
The actual collection is also 65.59 percent higher compared to PHP133.783 million during the same period last year.
District Collector Alexandra Lumontad said on Friday the BOC-Port of Clark's positive revenue collection performance can be attributed to the improved valuation and intensified collection efforts of the port.
"We in the Port of Clark carry out Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero's orders to consistently implement strict valuation and classification rules to ensure the collection of correct customs duties and taxes," Lumontad said in a statement.
She lauded the men and women of the BOC-Port of Clark for their dedication to service leading to the consistent success of the port in revenue collection.
She added that the BOC-Port of Clark will further enhance its revenue collection efforts to hit its assigned monthly collection target. (PNA)
