Philippines logs 703 new cases, 4 more deaths

MANILA, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Philippines reported 703 new COVID-19 infections on Wednesday, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the Southeast Asian country to 4,028,187.

The Department of Health (DOH) said the number of active cases dropped to 17,049, while four more patients died from COVID-19 complications, taking the death toll to 64,504.

The Philippines, with a population of around 110 million, has tested over 33.5 million people since the viral disease emerged in January 2020.

The Philippines reported its highest COVID-19 single-day tally of 39,004 new cases on Jan. 15. The country has fully vaccinated over 73.7 million people.
