Takeo Koike Appointed Head of ADBs Office of Markets Development and Public-Private Partnership

MANILA, PHILIPPINES (7 August 2025) — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has appointed Takeo Koike as Head of its Office of Markets Development and Public-Private Partnership (OMDP). 

As Head of OMDP, he leads planning, operations, and administration of ADB’s market development and transaction advisory operations to help ADB's developing member countries to attract greater private investment and spur dynamic private sector-led growth. 

“I look forward to working closely with ADB’s developing member countries and the private sector to promote inclusive and sustainable development through innovative solutions to enable and mobilize private capital in the region,” said Mr. Koike.

Mr. Koike has almost three decades of professional work experience in private sector infrastructure finance, public–private partnerships, and public sector financing across Asia and the Pacific. He has spent 23 years at ADB and held senior roles in ADB’s South Asia Department, Office of Public–Private Partnership, and Private Sector Operations Department. Before joining ADB, he served as Section Chief in the International Bureau of Japan’s Ministry of Finance, and as Investment Officer at the Export-Import Bank of Japan.

A national of Japan, Mr. Koike holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in the United States; a Master’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science in the United Kingdom; and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Tokyo in Japan.
