Philippines to push for food, energy security at ASEAN Summit

MANILA, May 6 (Xinhua) -- The Philippines will prioritize energy and food security at the ASEAN Summit, the Philippine Presidential Communication Office (POC) said on Wednesday.

The Philippines, as this year's ASEAN chair, would push to strengthen regional food security, maintain the free flow of essential goods, and implement measures to support farmers as well as micro, small and medium enterprises, according to the POC.

The 48th ASEAN Summit and related meetings are scheduled to be held in Cebu, the Philippines, under the theme "Navigating Our Future, Together."
