MANILA, July 8 (Xinhua) -- The Philippines' unemployment rate in May 2025 eased to 3.9 percent, down from 4.1 percent in April 2025, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), which announced the figure on Tuesday.
PSA Chief Dennis Mapa said at a press conference that an estimated 2.03 million Filipinos were out of work in May this year, a decrease from the 2.06 million jobless Filipinos in April.
In May 2024, the unemployment rate was 4.1 percent, or an estimated 2.11 million Filipinos, Mapa said.
